The national forestry commission works to improve the quality of life of people living in forest areas. It seeks to conserve and restore all forest ecosystems, to protect against man-made hazzards and natural disasters. Furthermore, it works to strengthen forest production in a sustainable manner. The national forestry commission, along with CONAFOR and other industry organizations, strives to achieve sustainable forestry development.
Expo Forestal 2014 is a forum with a focus on the commercial aspect the forestry industry. It was designed to create a space in which the buying and selling of products and services related to the sector could be facilitated. This event boasts the participation of national and international partners as well as the presence of companies involved in primary and secondary processing, raw materials, tools, consulting services, government institutions, universities, public research organizations, construction organizations, and finance organizations, among others.
